Admission Procedure

There are a few steps needed for new guests to arrange for admission to the Guest House. We will do our best to make the process as simple as possible for you.

Guest House will receive the referral and review the information.
Guest House Team will contact you to set a date for an "Intake” meeting.
- We arrange for a mutually convenient time for you and your loved one to come to the Guest House. At that time you will have a chance to tour the Guest House and ask questions. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Staff will be able to answer questions and you will be able to determine if the Guest House is a good fit.
- Guest House staff will ask questions regarding specific care needs, medications, emergency contacts and ways for us to provide the best possible individualized support. Depending on the potential new guest's comfort level, they may join in the activities taking place in the common areas while this meeting occurs, or may remain with you.
- If you think the Guest House may be a good fit, a date is set for a trial stay and we will start the paperwork, such as a Service Agreement and other pertinent documentation. Once the information is uploaded by Guest House Staff, you will have secure online access to all relevant documentation. Most of the documents have to be completed just once, and you will be able to update information online at any time.
Arrange for "Trial Stays".
- Initially, guests will try a day stay of a few hours, to gain comfort and familiarity with the Guest House Program. Some guests may benefit from multiple trial day stays before moving on to trial overnight stays.
- Once completed, Guest House Program will work with you towards scheduling a trial overnight stay.
